3 Easy Steps to Terminating Data Jacks |
| |
| Strip the cable jacket back, exposing the wires. Take
care not to nick insulation on the individual wires. |
| |
| Separate and place wires in to their appropriate positions.
Attempt to preserve the natural twist of the wires. The
twist in the wires gives the Category 5e or Category 6
cable the ability to transmit data at high speeds without
succumbing to crosstalk or interference. (Commonly those
new to data terminations will wonder whether to use “A”
or “B” pattern. Fortunately there is no performance
difference between A and B pattern. Providing both ends
of the cable are terminated with the same pattern, the
cable can be expected to perform well.) |
