The SMC8648T is a high-performance 48-port managed switch with 48 fixed 10/100/1000 ports, four of which can be upgraded with optional mini GBIC expansion slots for fiber connections. Compact and efficient, despite its high port count and advanced features, the SMC8648T is the ideal solution for any enterprise workgroup or backbone switching application. Loaded with advanced features, the SMC8648T offers complete Layer 2/3/4 switching with traffic prioritization, including DSCP-based CoS and TCP/UDP port-based CoS and, as well as port- and protocol-based VLANs. For more powerful management applications, the SMC8648T also provides rate limiting, Simple Network Time Protocol (SNTP), and Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP), all configurable through an intuitively designed Command Line Interface (CLI). Built for robust workgroup and backbone switching, the SMC8648T has the flexibility to allow for upgrades, including SNMPv3, Multiple Spanning Tree Protocol (802.1s) that allows single spanning tree within VLANs, and Access Control List (ACL).
